The Wedding & Portrait Workshop is an immersive experience designed to inspire creativity, sharpen technical skills and prepare you to take your business to the next level. This all day workshop brings together some of the industry's top talent who will share their techniques for creating stunning portraits.
Presentations will encompass a blend of topics with live demonstrations highlighting techniques from working in challenging lighting situations to posing couples, individuals, flat lays, event details and more. Participants will learn in both classroom style and smaller breakout sessions throughout the day.
There will be couples to photograph and you can expect to come away with portfolio ready images. Your ticket includes morning coffee and pastries, lunch and a drink at our closing happy hour. We hope to see you there!
Sony Ambassador Zabrina Deng will walk us through her environmental portrait approach, philosophy, and techniques. She utilizes natural light as well as OCF amongst her surroundings to craft compositions for portraits that blend seamlessly with their locations.

In this engaging and whimsical themed presentation Joel will share his tried and true formula for creating captivating and engaging storytelling themed images!
Joel will discuss inspiration, motivation and also the technical side of creating these conceptual and artistic photograph compositions. He will share his creative process, giving insight into the various stages of creating from forming an idea to the steps needed to create the final piece. He will also share how he continues to stay inspired, creating a body of work that blurs the line between fantasy and reality while at the same time building a professional career as an artist. He will share his tips and advice for exploring your own creativity and how you can delve into your imagination to create your own storytelling through your photography.
The presentation will include practical tips and suggestions that can help you explore your own ideas and will give you guidance on how to take your own imagination and stories and use them as creative inspiration in your own work. Joel will share the creative journey he has been on over the past decade as a working artist and will give you an opportunity to ask questions and have conversations about the creative process as well. About Joel Robison:
Joel Robison is a Canadian creative conceptual photographer currently based in the UK. His work is a blend of whimsy and surrealism mixed into honest storytelling, often using self-portraits that allow the viewer to follow the creative narrative in his images with him as the main character. He has spent the last decade developing his creative style and his work has been featured in publications and galleries worldwide. He is a strong supporter of community, especially within the creative world, and teaches workshops and classes that focus on developing the creative identity and exploring the creative narrative inside us all.
