MiguelQuiles
Hey everyone. With all of the new lenses that have come out in the past year, I'm curious to hear which lenses are your favorites and why! Right now the new 70-200mm f/2.8 GM II is mine, but it changes from day to day. I'd love to hear your ideas!
tonygale
There are so many good ones! For me it really depends on context and who I am photographing and why. I love the new #FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II and the #FE 70-200MM F2.8 GM OSS II both amazing and versatile. The #FE 135mm F1.8 GM is incredible, and I occasionally use the #FE 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 GM OSS because the compression is so cool! Travis
I was such an 85mm portrait shooter and use my 24-70 constantly, but have really been loving using more lenses in my portraiture work such as the 24/35/50 and definitely looking to add the 135 into my toolkit!! tonygale
I'm going a bit old school. That #Sonnar® T* FE 55mm F1.8 ZA is still an incredible lens! Products Used FE 55mm F1.8 ZA Sonnar® T* Lenses
Vinsonimages
I'll be the squeaky wheel and say the 24mm f1.4 GM!
Nino
For portraits, my first choice is 85mm f1.4 GM. My second choice is 50mm f1.2 GM and 35mm f1.4 GM for environmental portraits.
benmoon
Hard to beat the 85mm 1.4 GM for tighter portraits, and I’ve been in love with the new 50mm 1.2 GM lately!
pm-r
one of my favorite lenses for portraiture is the 300mm f/2.
bjohnson
I grew up with shooting with an 85mm f1.8 (from a different brand, and the lens is about 20 years older than me). I still love that focal length and look. I've liked using the #FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSSas a sub for it - it's like having everything I like about that focal length PLUS a great macro lens. I always like having kit that can do double/tripple-duty in m Products Used FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSSLenses
CarolineJensen
I would say the 50GM and the 135GM are my absolute favorites!
pm-r
I'm going a bit old school. When that first 55 lens rolled off the assembly line, I wonder if anyone realized then how great it was. I still have mine and have not been tempted to sell it even when I added the 50GM to my kit. While a little long for doing street photography, I always bring it along and often use it. The 55 is always in my fanny pack along with the 85mm f/1.8 and 20mm f/1.8 when I'm shooting weddings, though I use the 35GM probably 60% of the time. There is nothing old school about the 55mm f/1.8!!!

Alantown
My favorite lens for portraiture is the Sigma 105, f/1.4. I use the 1.4 for full length, f/2 for waist up, 2.8-4 for closer. It renders beautifully!
MiguelQuiles
I'm going a bit old school. Still have to get my hands on one of those RX1RII bodies! Looks so good.
IraBlock
I love the 135 G master. The 135 length gives the nicest shape to face most faces when working on tight closeups. For half body shots I too love the 55mm 1.8, it's an oldie but goodie.
