Macro Flash

When shooting macro i used a Canon Ring flash on my A7iii - i used it in Manual.

I switched to a A1 a year back and non of the off brand Ring flashes i've tried work.

Any suggestions, or as an alternate I'm looking for good diffusers for my Godox Flash.

Could you share an example of your work? I use a variety of modifiers for macro, including a light bounced into a white umbrella.
