A question about using a Polarizer: Do you have/use a different polarizer for each lens or do you utilize a step-up ring and use the same polarizer for each lens? For example, my 24-70mm uses an 82mm polarizer and my 100-400mm uses a 77mm. Step-up rings seem to be a bit of a hassle, but so would be carrying different size polarizer lenses. Thank you for your ideas!

Step-up rings are probably your best bet OR you can use the Sensor clip-in filters and those work amazing too. No need to remove anything, you just leave the filter over your lens and have the ability to swap out any lens with ease.

My advice, if you have the cash, it to buy a top-line polarizer for each lens. I learned my lesson the hard way years ago when I dropped two $350 Singh-Rays on Yosemite's unforgiving granite...

Hey, I use the Polar Pro Summit setup, it's a box with slide filters and a CP. If I am traveling for work and don't want to bring the full setup, I carry an 82MM Polar Pro CP with a 77MM step-up ring. Life is to short to fumble through several pieces of glass on the fly. 🙂

It depends on whether I need to use the hood, and how many different filter thread sizes I have between my lenses.  Fortunately, between all of my lenses, I mostly have 82mm and 77mm.  So, I have bought separate CPL's for those two filter thread sizes.

The one oddball is the 50mm GM, which I use step up rings for.
