davidmclain
Tony, any chance you could explain how the STF part of this lens works? It's always been a bit of a mystery to me.
tonygale
Tony, any chance you could explain how the STF part of this lens works? It's always been a bit of a mystery to me.Hey David,Essentially it has a filter/element inside the lens that is like a graduated ND expect it is clear in the middle and blocks more light as you move to the edges. That is why the f/stop is 2.8 but the t/stop is 5.6. The result of all that is the bokeh is smoother, especially at the edges of the out of focus areas. I hope that is helpful?
