albertogvphoto
Which do you prefer for sports photography, athletics SONY GM 70-200 2.8 II or SONY GM 135MM 1.8?
DonSmith
I photographed sports for 40 years Albert - I'd go with the 70-200mm hands down - longer glass is always a plus in sports. Id also add a 1.4x if possible.
MattK
Definitely agree with everything Don said. 70-200mm all the way!
tonygale
The 70-200/2.8 is much more versatile, while I love the 135/1.8. With one lens for sports I would go with the 70-200 for sure
lmontes1974
70-200 will be always a must. But, 135mm is an amazing option. When I had A mount, I used 70-200mm, and was a very good experience. Now I moved to E mount and I choose only work with prime lenses, and I loved¡¡
LensBrew
I got both and shot with both, indoors and outdoors. The 70-200 will give you the versatility needed for quick action in sports. You will not lose much with respect to aperture and light for sports. Just make sure you know if your camera has dual gain or it is ISO invariant (this will be your support for noise management). Not to mention, the mk2 is new with the amazing XD linear AF motor. This will be crucial for sports.
