Drew_Geraci Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 I've been shooting on the A7SIII and A1 for what seems to be the last 2+ years exclusively and I've been using the CFexpress A cards for a lot of my work, but I'm wondering if the CFexpress cards are overkill (since I only really need them when shooting S-I 4k 120p and 1080 240p footage. Does anyone just use regular SD cards for their cameras? And if so, what's the benefit for you? Products Used Alpha 7S III (Alpha7SIII)Cameras Alpha 1 (Alpha1)Cameras
Joey-Austin Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Hello Drew, When I was getting my A7RV I thought about getting CFexpress A but it's an overkill for what I need, so I found thats a V90 SD card can get me all I need for fraction of the price, I ended up getting Acer SC900 SDXC UHS-II V90 265GB for $124, and I've been able to use all sony A7RV features and recording 8k with no issues, I think the CFexpress is good choice only is you shoot a lot of burst shots in sport events Products Used Alpha 7R V (Alpha7RV)Cameras 1
tonygale Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 I am using a combination of Sony tough SD and CFexpress type A cards for everything. That said when I buy new cards I only get CFexpress type A cards to future proof everything.
