Focus Bracketing on the a7RV

I was never one for focus stacking until I started playing with the a7RV - now I'm loving it.

How about you a7RV owners? Do you find you are doing more focus stacks now that the camera makes it so easy to do?

Hey Don! I haven’t found I’m using it. I guess I never thought doing a 3-4 image focus stack was really difficult in camera. What kept me away from it was the post production. I guess I found it too time consuming and not worth it for the most part. But I know people are loving the feature so maybe I’m just late to the party 🙂

Hi Don, to be honest I rarely use it before, but now with A7RV I like doing macro shots with it, so much fun to see all the details

I'm using it all the time now - LOVE it for macro and landscape work. 4-7 frames seem to be the sweet spot before post-processing gets to be too much.

If I use a lot of frames (more than 10) I go to Helicon Focus - it's a beast! Have done 30+ frame stacks...

IWith the R4 the focus stacking is manual. I'd love for sony to update the r4 because it's missing some things like raw lossless and focus brackenting, anyway I'll have fun with my R4!
