ChuckN13
I shoot with the a7iii. The monitor is an LCD or equivalent. Is the viewfinder also an LCD? Is there any danger placing the eye to the viewfinder when shooting the eclipse on April 8? Also - what precautions must be taken to not fry the lens while pointing it at the sun, or is this something I do not need to worry about? Thanks
TrekRover
Hi Chuck, Yes, the viewfinder is also a LCD. You will need a solar filter for your lens. Do not point your camera at the sun without a solar filter otherwise your sensor may possibly be damaged. Here is a good article about solar filters: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/photography/buying-guide/lens-filters-for-solar-photography
