  5. My wife Beri and I are currently staying on a beautiful farm about 2 hours north of San Francisco. I have had a blast photographing our foggy mornings. Do you like creating images in the fog?
  6. Ah - that used to be me so I can totally relate Kevin. I photographed Major League Baseball for 26 years - I miss it!

  15. Hey everyone, what is your favorite time of day to photograph the landscape? I just returned from teaching a fall in Scottish Highlands workshop with my wife Beri and my partner Ron Modra. We had plenty of overcast which for me is a green light to photograph all day - most days we did! Would love to hear from you...
  16. That is a great one - I used something similar back in my NFL days Kevin. What about for shorter glass like a 24-70mm GM or a 12-24mm? Any recommendations?
  17. Once I size the print, I visually check it so it is not over-sharpened. The Sony a1 files are so sharp that oftentimes I leave well enough alone. If not, I use Topaz Sharpener AI on a separate layer in PS and mask out anything that should be soft like water and skies.
  18. I am currently in the middle of Ron Modra and my Scottish Highlands workshop. Sadly we had a participant get Covid and I have been sidelined with a stomach flu bug. Ah - the joys of traveling. What we have been lucky with has been the weather... though here in Scotland, one minute it is dry and the next it is pouring rain. I try to maintain a simple approach to keeping my gear dry. I use a towel, shammy and microfiber clothes. I have tried every cover known to man and all are a pain. I also carry a compact Repel Umbrella - not to keep me dry but my gear, What are your methods? Could be a great discussion here... Here is an image of Sligachan Cascades on the Isle of Skye prior to a cloudburst.
  19. Tough to beat Drew - something about it gets in your soul.
  20. Finally made it to Norway last March Matt - Lofoton Islands - going back again in March 2023 - incredibly beautiful place.
  21. I may have to agree with you Gary - NZ is pretty amazing!
