  1. These images are awesome. I photographed northern lights in Iceland Jan/Feb and am leaving for Norway next week! Hope the activity remains high!
  2. I hate listening to rumors - having said that - there is a SonyRumors.com page out there but they are often wrong
  3. I know Sony offers a high-end drone, but how many of you would love to see Sony take on the current consumer brands with a lineup of Sony drones? With the awesome glass and sensors that Sony has, it seems to me they would rule very quickly! Chime in... I know this site is monitored so let's get all of you to give this idea a thumb's up!!!
  4. Was a contract photographer for the NBA for 16 years PMR. It was 300mm f/2.8 down court and a 24-70mm near court. Always shot on strobes - started back in the film days
  5. I read the email - will have to go back and have a second look...
  6. Welcome to the forum Ebo! It's an awesome community here!
  7. Switched over from Canon Joey - looking back I more than made the right choice!
  8. Great question Caroline and one that I ask myself all the time as I am very active on social media sites. Bottom line: if you put it out there, expect it to be stolen. Try a reverse Google Image search and you'll be blown away. Eastern European countries constantly steal my work but how do I go after them? Russia is #1 in theft of my work. People ask me about watermarking my images. I used to but recently stopped as it takes less than 30 seconds in PS with Content Aware to remove them so what is the point? On the other hand, most people who attend my workshops first find me on social media - so it is a double-edged sword. Bottom line, I put it out there.
  9. Very nice - thanks Drew! Stock pix sales are dead in the water with Getty
  10. Hey Brent, I had two cameras modified - one for full color and another for 720nm. I use the latter all the time as I like the rich B&W look. I used a filter but shutter speed is too slow to stop foliage.
  11. Sounds like a great time Caroline - sadly - I live on the wrong side of the country or I'd join you 🙂
  12. Welcome to the site Chris... I teach landscape photo workshops for a living and can teach anyone what they need to know about cameras and processing. Passion comes from within - so many really good shooters do not have it and it's a shame. You have a makeup that will serve you well.
  13. Hey Tony - thanks for the head's up. I missed the last one and will be back from Norway by then. Where did you purchase your solar filter from?
  14. I agree wholeheartedly with Tony... I use the 24-105mm a lot with my landscape work. It is not a GM lens but it should be - it is razor sharp
  15. Hi Joey - I quit printing at home and have all my work printed via BayPhotoLab.com. I was tired of wasting ink as I don't print all that often at home - spent more time blowing out the heads 🙂
  16. Would love to see the images Gunslinger. What camera are you using?
  17. Awesome sunsets. You get some great skies!
  18. Hi CB - in the top image it looks as if you are getting a bit of sun flare on the models hair. I'm not seeing anything abnormal in the bottom frame. Can you elaborate a bit more? The bokah looks normal to me... Were you using the 24-70mm II with it's lens shade? I own the a7RV and love the camera.
  19. Hi Jamie, these are excellent images... I worked as the house photographer for SAP Center in San Jose, California for 28 years - shot a lot of concerts. Starting having to take my Sony 400mm f/2.8 + 1.4x converter as more and more acts kept photographers back at the sound board. Are you finding this to be a problem?
  20. I would recommend either the Sony a1 or the new Sony a7RV. Both cameras in my bag all the time - can't think of another camera/brand that I'd rather be using
  21. I purchased my first Sony camera almost 9 years ago. What captivated me was the quality and dynamic range of their sensors. Over the years I watched Sony develop into an industry leader and watched as they transformed consumer cameras into pro level cameras...
  22. I love astrophotography. I often use my Sony a7IIIS for astro. I also love using the Sony 14mm f/1.8 and/or the Sony 12-24mm f/2.8. What is your favorite astro setup?
