  1. Welcome! So glad you are here!
  2. I love the 100-400! It is so sharp and just the right range for this.
  3. I really need to borrow one of these! I tried at Kando, but they were out the whole time! I am looking for a vlogging phone, but have been iPhone since the beginning.
  4. I wonder if running ads is better if you are genuinely trying to get seen there. I find that any post that even whiffs of business gets dunked by the algorithm. Have you found that to be the case? I am genuinely looking for a way to make it work.
  5. This is such a great point. I thought the same thing until I dug into it more. I took me over a month of countless tries to dial in one image I wanted to make. It took literally dozens of working hours to do it. It was 'work' but a different kind. It is more like becoming a writer than a painter, I feel. The act of learning to communicate with the AI and getting it to 'listen' is an art form in and of itself. The part that annoys me though is how it is being used to create things that genuinely feel like a rip off...images that are so close to copyrighted art that is unique to the photographer or painter. I shudder to think how this would be in unethical hands!
  6. Yep! I am wondering how far removed an image needs to be to not be too close. So many famous photographers are copied--right down to the setting, gear, lighting and clothing. Where is the line?? It is a huge ethical question for sure.
  7. That is one thing that greatly concerns me! I tend to draw from artist influences prior to 1900, so I generally don't run into art that seems close to modern day images, BUT it is a massively slippery slope anyway. I have seen images where the people look like real famous people--deep fake style. It is crazy to think how this could impact everything visual.
  8. I really admire this. I am definitely not someone who pushes myself too often. I am such a slow shooter that my go-to for portraiture became standing back and shooting from a distance--fly on the wall style. I am terrible at directing people to feel comfortable in front of the camera. This is an amazing portrait!
  9. Looks amazing, PM-R! It looks like a beautiful country wedding!
  10. The colors are so amazing here...really gorgeous. I tend to love a strong centered composition, but I feel like the tractor is leaning a bit. I would bring the right side of the frame up a smidge so the back of the tractor is perfectly parallel with the bottom of the frame. The other thing I would do is up the contrast ever so slightly on the tractor itself. The luminance values of your image are similar across the board, so the tractor gets lost a little bit. I would use a brush in your editing program to paint on some contrast and maybe a touch of sharpening to the tractor. That will visually draw the eye right to it without seeming obvious. It is easy for the amazing autumn colors to steal the scene!
  11. Pretty much! I am on others, but IG has been my main platform since it started. I started with it as a place to share my iPhone kid pics, but then switched to a business account in 2014. Sigh. It is a mess!
  12. Mine too. It is really hard to be seen or heard, especially if you are trying to use it for business! Then it seems to tank miserably. It is annoying to have to pay to be seen by people who already chose to follow you.
  13. I have to say I was daydreaming about the early days of social media. Way back when, it was easier to get seen and heard. Anyone else mention 'link in bio' on Instagram and find their post tanks? Do any of you find success with social media? If so how?? Otherwise, I would love to hear your opinion on all of this!
  14. It is a bit of drag these days! I rather miss the early days of social media when it was easier to get seen and heard. Now I feel like anything remotely looking like an ad gets dropped by the algorithms of social fast!
  15. That is kind of why I ask. I feel I haven't needed it with how sharp the files are out of camera!
  16. Hi, friend! I am so happy you are here! I adore you and your work!
  17. I always forget there is a self clean mode! My rocket blower is a must!
  18. I love the mood and feel of this, Don! I like environmental portraiture when I like the environment, haha! I get lost in cityscapes, I love rural settings.
  19. I tend to not sharpen for print, which may be a horribly bad habit! What is your workflow for print?
  20. Yes, I am secretly hoping it can all integrate into photography somehow.
