  1. @SandeeLim I spoke to two pro-support reps, both of whom are awesome, unfortunately they didn't have a solution. The only real suggestion was to focus and everything before you turn focus-stacking on. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
  2. @SandeeLim I just tried with the a9III and a7RV and couldn't find a way around it either. I also tried bright monitoring to see if that would work. But it is also disabled. I reached out to a couple Sony tech reps to see if they had any ideas, if they have a solution I will post again. I will also bring it up next time I have a chance with the engineers. Sorry I couldn't help!
  3. @SandeeLim yes, I had just realized everything I had suggested, you had already tried! I wasn't paying enough attention. I apologize. I will try it on my a7RV later today and see if I can figure anything out!
  4. I will try it on my a7RV later today and see if I can come up with anything!
  5. I use Capture One, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and for pixel shift images I use Sony's Imaging Edge. Imaging Edge is free the rest are paid
  6. @ST The autofocus is crazy fast on the new 300mm. The a9III pre-capture is great for birds, at least for me. Without it I almost always missed the bird taking off shot, I just didn't respond fast enough. An advantage the a1 has over the a9III is the resolution, if you anticipate heavy cropping its nice to have those extra pixels. On the other hand, with pre-capture on the a9III I can come in closer than I could previously, since I can get that initial moment instead of needing a wider frame for safety. It might be worth trying to rent it and see what you think? Tony
  7. Welcome and the a7CR is awesome!
  8. On Sony Alpha cameras with the video/stills/S&Q switch below the dial, if you set the camera mode dial to whatever auto mode you want, that will follow through if you are set to video That said for video I usually use Manual and if the exposure is changing, I will use auto ISO
  9. I did this with the a9III and the 300/2.8 GM and 2x extender. I thought the 300mm and 2x worked great. That said the flexibility of the zoom on the 200-600mm is worth a lot to me. The bokeh isn't hugely different because the 300 with the is an f/5.6, not that different than the f/6.3 on the 200-600. The 300mm does have the advantage of being a G Master and crazy fast. I only briefly had the 300mm as a loaner
  10. Playing around with my new a9III, the global shutter is amazing with flash! I took these photos of my daughter yesterday using a Sony HVL-F28RM speedlite into an umbrella off camera at 1/3200, high speed sync would never have worked as well. A little tiny speedlite can work to overpower the sun now! Such a cool new camera! Both a9III with a Sony 24-105/4 G, 1/3200, f/4, ISO 320
