I think this is a fire technique that I use often. It breaks up the "monotony" of our faces being all up in peoples face for the whole video, and I think it gives a certain intimacy in the shot especially when you are talking about more serious stuff. Keep the tips coming homie!

Honestly, one of my biggest challenges when I first started vlogging was how I looked and sounded on camera. So I want to drop some tips on how to "combat" this challenge as I know some of us struggle with the same. 1. ACCEPTANCE Listen bro/sis, you LOOK HOW YOU LOOK, AND YOU SOUND HOW YOU SOUND. Sure, you can do stuff to "fix" what you may be unhappy with, and I am all for that..but I think step 1 is ACCEPTING that you are YOU! No-one is perfect. We all have flaws, we all have things we aren't happy with when it comes to our appearance. They are all valid feelings.. HOWEVER, you need to ACCEPT YOUR UNIQUENESS (if thats even a freakin word). You are your own biggest critic! 2. PRACTICE Simply put, this goes hand in hand with #1. The more you see yourself on camera, the more you just kinda "accept" your camera appearance, and after a while, you learn to stop nitpicking yourself, and picking yourself to pieces. So you wanna practice? MAKE MORE VLOGS AND POST THEM, whether you like your appearance in them or not! 3. ANGLES Yeah yall, guess what. Us "vlogging pros" (I hate even saying that lol), know how to use our angles to our advantages to hide our "imperfections" as best as we can. I wont go into tips here, as to make sure to not offend anyone, but a quick google search of "using angles for photography of people" will lend you a bunch of tips you can use 4. PERFECTION ISN'T NECESSARY! REMEMBER ON YOUTUBE, YOUR PERSONALITY AND LOOKS DEFINE YOU. People GRAVITATE towards imperfection and authenticity when it comes to VLOGGING. LEAN ON YOUR UNIQUENESS! 5. YOU CARE TOO MUCH I spoke about this in another thread but want to add some "sauce" to it here. Listen. It doesn't matter how good you think you look, or how bad you think you look (STOP thinking you look bad tho), SOMEONE WILL ALWAYS HAVE CRAP TO TALK. ACCEPT IT! Some people just want to watch the world burn. Focus on the people who accept you for who you are, and not for those who don't. And the ones who don't, WHO CARES! I hope those tips were helpful! I think it depends on your use case. I have a comparison video on my channel if you are interested in watching it. I love the ZV-1 and the ZV-E10, I think each has a few advantages over the other. If you are speaking specifically in terms of handheld vlogging, I think the ZV-E10 holds the advantage, because you can adapt wider lenses that will be more suitable for vlogging (this may also be a disadvantage however as lenses add additional weight). The ZV-1 is a fixed lens option, that in my opinion for handheld vlogging, too tight of a shot once you turn on active stabilization (it's only your head in the frame basically). HOWEVER, the ZV-1 is much easier to deploy in day to day use because of its size. So again, just based on those things, if size is not a huge concern for you, the ZV-E10 would in my opinion hold the advantage. Pair it with the 10-18 f4 OSS and you have a great steady option that looks nice, crispy, and wide.

What up y'all! Some of you all may know me from Youtube, if you do say hello below! If not, nice to forum meet you LOL. I thought it would be a good idea to post some of our favorite vlogging tips, sort of as a kind of "sticky" for those starting out with vlogging, or, those who are still trying to develop their vlogging prowess. The "art of vlogging" is challenging for a lot of folks (it was for me at the beginning), so I will give one of my favorite tips, and hopefully you can leave one of your tips to help out beginning, and hey, even experienced vloggers. I will go first. (Let's not talk about gear, but vlogging itself) I think one of my biggest tips would be DON'T OVERTHINK IT. I think we get into habits of trying to make sure our vlog is "perfect". Ya know, the camera has to be set right, the story has to be "perfect", we have to look perfect on camera, and so on so forth. Don't get me wrong, once you get good at vlogging, I think those qualities are great, but I think initially, you just need to focus on capturing the moment. Essentially, stop thinking so much about "HEY I'M VLOGGING", and just focus on capturing the moment! Stop worrying about your ISO, your shutter speed, etc, and CAPTURE THE MOMENTS! In a vlog, that's what your viewers want to see. The other skills will come in time. I could go on for days but I would love for you all to drop some of your tips for others. LET'S GO!
