  1. @tonygale thank you. Ill drop those into my Amazon cart now
  2. The battery for my Sony Wireless Remote Commander has died and I'm in need of some replacements for upcoming trips this year. Does anyone know if Sony sells these or recommends a certain brand over another?
  3. This was my first total eclipse and my first in the path of totality. I used my A7RIII and 100-400 GM. I received my solar filter less than a week prior to the eclipse and in that week I did not get to practice with it due to rainy weather. In the early partial phase of the eclipse I was using F8, 1/1000, ISO 250 and bracketing 3 shots 1 stop apart so I had plenty to choose from. As we approached totality I began to do either a 7 or 9 shot bracket 1 stop apart which ranged the SS from 1/30-1/2500. The clouds that passed through from time to time made exposure a bit of a challenge. I'm pretty happy with what I captured and nothing can compare to being there and seeing it live, it was an amazing, otherworldly experience. I do wish I had closed off my aperture a bit more to catch the diamond ring a bit better but it moved so quick.
  4. I will make any excuse to see any National Park. Recent one from Big Bend
  5. I do as well but mine is at the C1 position.
  6. Beautiful photos. I am finally getting around to setting up custom menus for my a7riii. Ive got a separate settings for wildlife and astro and wanted to set up one for macro. What settings would you recommend? I was thinking aperture priority, steady shot on, and leaving ISO on auto. What focus area would you select? Is there anything else you would recommend? Thanks
  7. I use the Sony a7rIII and typically the 20mm 1.8 G with a light pollution filter and occasionally the 16-35 GM
  8. I use the Bright Monitoring to check my composition when doing night photography
  9. My first was the A6000 it was a great entry-level and wonderfully priced mirrorless camera. I used it about 2 years before upgrading to the a7riii. I still have the A6000
  10. Photography related - Ive been enjoying the Outdoor Photography Podcast, F-stop Collaborate and Listen, Sony Alpha Photographers Podcast, Alpha Universe Podcast True Crime - (I like landscape/travel photography and national parks) so Park Predator and National Park After Dark. What about you?
  11. Ive never thought of images in these terms. What a unique perspective. Most of my images are filled with color and I do many long exposures, star trails etc so I'd guess High Energy.
