Hey Sony Team, what the heck is happening? You used to be a brand "for the people", not for the elite. I was drawn in to your ability to create community and excitement around a common passion. When I went to Kando in Oregon, all differences between the community fell aside due to the shared passion of the art. For one week, political affiliations, backgrounds and demographics didn't matter. You did such an AMAZING job at bringing people together and accomplished something no other imaging company has been able to achieve. I have been hopeful for a future Kando experience and found out tonight that you held a Kando event this year for pro photographers and pro community only. How heartbreaking, and to see the overall Alpha Universe community stall, I am disappointed in the brand. I was brought here by the people, not the product. Please bring the community back. I miss it, I miss you and I miss the joy of seeing peers share common ground. Leaving the community to "pros" is what drove people away from Nikon and Canon into your arms. I am hoping the new year brings a refreshed vision to your staff and the vision for community is established again. The camera giveaway is an interesting ploy to drum up community on the forums, but what brought the people to Sony was not this forum, it was your people treating the rest of us like one of your own. Bring back more events, digital or in person please.

Hey, I use the Polar Pro Summit setup, it's a box with slide filters and a CP. If I am traveling for work and don't want to bring the full setup, I carry an 82MM Polar Pro CP with a 77MM step-up ring. Life is to short to fumble through several pieces of glass on the fly. 🙂

Also, could you fix the Single-Sign-On bug where you get a big red warning message when clicking the community link at AlphaUniverse.com? I always have to sign out and back in a second time. 🙂

What Matt said, and to answer your last question. If you put an APSC sized lens on a full frame sensor it cuts down the available megapixels. For example an APSC lens will cut the A7IV from 33MP to 16MP. That's a loss of half your useable pixels. Generally, if you want to purchase a full frame, you stick to full frame glass to maximize it's use.

Flagstaff, AZ. The sky is so dark you can see ALL the stars due to their dark skies laws for the observatory. I also really like Sunset Crater National Monument, and also Grand Canyon Village. My least favorite place to shoot is the grand canyon, all the people and lights are a real PITA. Further away, Joshua Tree Monument, and there is a spot I like to go to between Quartzite and Buckeye. I once visited Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument but don't even think about going there unless you carry a firearm with you and visit with a buddy, it's a human trafficking route. The scenery though with the cactus sticking out is both creepy and alluring. Same with Ajo, got some great night and day timelapses in the desert areas around the city but you need a firearm and a buddy. Every time I have been down in that area Border Patrol pulls me over and snoops around in my car ESPECCIALLY when I am parked on a dirt road. They always advise me to make sure I am armed and if I see any human smugglers to turn around and pretend that I haven't seen anything and leave the area. However some of my favorite images and timelapse happened with a buddy whilst watching the monsoons in Ajo.

Hey Richie, when picking a camera there is a lot to be considered. Usually many questions are asked about the purpose of the camera, etc etc etc. However, given that you want to shoot wide-angle and fisheye, that narrows down the best options for your use case considerably. When photographers choose to shoot primarily wide-angle or fish-eye (ULTRA wide-angle, really) they will choose to go with a full frame camera. The reason this is, is due to the "crop ratio" of the smaller sensors. Smaller sensors like APS-C add 1.5X focal range to your chosen lens. Hence a 20MM full frame lens will really be a 30MM lens on an A6600 or ZV-E10. If you are looking for the sharpest lenses they come in full frame, and than you have to equate for the crop factor. This makes shooting wide-angle photography incredibly more difficult because you need much wider glass to get those pristine wide-angle shots. The A7SIII is a fantastic camera for ultra low-light photography and low light video (as well as 120P/4K video). The only drawback is that the still images are 12MP. This means there is not a lot of room to crop in if you need to. The more MP you have, the more room you have to crop and reframe. Adding a degree of flexibility. If it were me, and I wanted wide-angle shots for general landscape purposes, I would choose the A7IV as it has excellent low light capabilities and is a full frame capability. It also gives you 33MP and a rotating screen. An A7RIV is a great camera as well, not the best in low light, unless you are used to having a tripod with you at all times. This is also a FANTASTIC option for wide-angle landscape. The A7IV offers more flexibility for those wanting to jump into photography feet first. You can see what lenses are compatible with different bodies at this link https://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/www/cscs/lens_body/ If you get a full-frame body, they use Sony FE lenses, the G-master lenses are generally the sharpest but the other G lenses are stupid sharp as well.

The G-Master lenses are wonderful for "natural light" photos. I rarely shoot without strobes, but when it comes to a boudoir set. The G-Masters are fantastic.

ZV-E10 and A6600 as well as A6500 are excellent entry choices and the lenses are much cheaper to start with.

Hi Nicholas, fantastic colors you captured there, I really miss the fall foliage. I watched this on my LG OLED HDR10 TV, for the most part it looks great but the blacks are a bit washed out. I recommend either boosting the contrast or the blacks channel. The blacks on the OLED tv aren't as rich. Everything looks fine on my color calibrated ProArt display (but it's not HDR).

Call the Sony Alpha Pro line and speak to Glenn, he is the know-all be-all of Sony's products. If he can't get it fixed for you than it's a dud.

I need to look into this AI stuff, I have been seeing it everywhere, if it can use my images for reference I would not be a happy camper.
