  1. Fun Tip: For those getting started in vlogging, utilize some slow motion to help add some cinematic elements to your vlogs. If you’re using an older camera like the a7III or a6400 and are limited to 1080p60 or 1080p120 and feel like your results look a bit soft try using a longer focal length such as an 85mm or 70-200mm. Not only does it yield sharper results but adds more focus on some closer detail shots. What other slow motion tips do you have that you like to use in video?
  2. For those interested in shooting more video in 2023, I wanted to share some common video focusing mistakes new video shooters make and tips to help! Let me know if you find this helpful and if you might've made some of these mistakes - I know I definitely did! Using too Wide of a Focus Point Keeping Face/Eye AF On Focus Speed / Sensitivity Not using the right subject recognition Over reliance on Touch Tracking AF Tapping Too Hard Not Locking Down Focus
  3. Happy New Year everyone! What are some photography or videography related resolutions you might be pursuing for the year? For me this year, I want to explore more photography styles and figure out more of a style that I want to achieve! Are you hoping to capture more moments in 2023 or perhaps start vlogging and recording down your memories?
  4. It still is! I know personally I like to have a brief storyboard to go off of but sometimes if we're not planning something we need to structure something from the content afterwards.
  5. Oh boy...file management is fun LOL just spent a whole day figuring out dropbox. Since we're traveling we're trying to put everything on the cloud but we also had to buy extra hard drives too to have a physical backup in case too.
  6. 100%! That is also true as well, ISO performance on the newer cameras have gotten so much better in the recent years.
  7. I definitely want to consume more inspirational media too!
  8. I love this! Being around positive and fun vibes always excites us to create too!
  9. With the holiday season coming up, I know I'm itching to grab some new gear for the new year but before that I always have to ask myself...should I upgrade my camera or lens first? If you’re doing strictly photography, upgrade your lens. While photo tech has changed a lot over the last few years, photo quality actually hasn’t improved all that much. It has always been exceedingly good especially if you have invested in a DSLR or mirrorless camera in the last decade. A new lens, esp fast aperture ones like f/1.8 or f/1.4 will always breathe new life into your camera and motivates you to capture more moments. What do you guys think? What are you hoping to get as a nice holiday treat?
  10. That's me all the time!! I always feel like I need to capture something epic but I'm trying to remind myself that personality and excitement also helps to draw viewers in too so trying to find that balance.
  11. Hey all! Excited to be chatting on the forum and connecting with other creators. Some quick updates on what we've been up to, we've been in our digital nomad travel phase (in Japan right now) and it's been a great way for us to stay inspired while vlogging and making content. What are some ways that you stay inspired whether its photography or even vlogging? For us, it's traveling and finding new beautiful locations to capture but we often take for granted what is around us. Would love to hear how you find inspiration in the day to day!
  12. SAME! I just picked up the original RX1 and I'm loving it. Super excited to take photos with it, I even got the little viewfinder attachment too. I wish they'll upgrade it sometime in the future too T_T
  13. I've been using the Peak Design Everyday Zip 20L for a few years now, great travel backpack too and compact/sleek. Fits the 16 in Macbook Pro nicely. But if you need easier access, I also use the Think Tank Urban Access 15. That one only fits a 15 in laptop at most.
