Just joined the community after signing up for Professional Services. My name is James "J.T." Cocherell and I specialize in sports photography. I am from Indianapolis and work locally and around the Midwest. I started shooting as an amateur in 2013, going pro in 2016. My favorite thing to shoot and the reason I turned professional is Indiana Basketball. I am self taught, but I credit some great friends and mentors that have and continue to help me along the way. My experience consists of NCAA Indiana "IU" Basketball/Football, NBA Indiana Pacers, Indy Fuel (hockey), Indy Eleven (soccer), NASCAR Championship in Homestead/Miami, Indiana Fever & WNBA Finals, amateur sports (football, baseball, soccer, dance, BMX, auto racing). I am working on adding portraiture and architecture, and am open to learning other new genres as well. My long term goal is to shoot for sports card companies directly (if that's still a thing), an NBA/College team, or for a major wire service. My equipment consists of a Sony A9, Sony A7RIII, Sony 70-200 2.8 I, Sony 70-200 2.8 II, Sony 200-600 5.6-6.3, Sony 2.0 Teleconverter, Sigma 24-70 2.8, Sigma 14-24 2.8, and a couple Westcott FJ400 strobes. I'm hoping to upgrade to an A1 (or two) in the near future and some pro glass.
