  1. I’m actually trying to solve this myself. I’m planning to do a video soon on my audio solutions. I just bought the ECM-B10, but I also have the Sennheiser MKE400, and the DJI wireless microphones, but also I feel like the on board audio mics of the A7IV are also perfectly good to use for vlogging too since it’s the same one they used in the ZV1, and vloggers just throw that windscreen on top and vlog with it all the time. So I’ll do a comparison between all four, outdoors quiet, outdoors noisy, and indoors with echoes.
  2. Okay, I have been saving up for G Master lenses, I currently only have the 14mm GM and the 24-70 GMii, but a recent birthday party at a night club/lounge had me wanting in the aperture department and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I settled on the 28mm because it’s small and light, very cheap (got it used for $200), and I can pretend I’m using a Leica Q2 on the streets. Well, it’s simply amazing. I’m really blown away by it. It’s especially good at vlogging, which you wouldn’t think at 28mm it would be possible, but the lens is soooo short, half the barrel length of my 14mm GM, that I get an image frame roughly equivalent of somewhere inbetween 20mm and 24mm, but with much more background compression. Really pleasing image for vlogging. Plus it’s so tiny I can get candid shots in public easy, classic street photography stuff. so I’ve seen no one talk about this lens so if you haven’t heard before, let me be the first to say, this is a great cheap lens. The image quality is a bit better than my 24-70 GMii sadly, but no weather sealing and autofocus is rough in lowlight.
  3. Interesting, I only started taking Astro shots last week, and I used my 24-70 GMii because it was the only lens I had on me. I also have the 14mm GM, and I’m going to using it tonight. I also bought a light pollution clip in filter, and I’ll be experimenting with that. I’ll be sure to make a post and share my results and whether the light pollution filter works or not.
  4. I got the 16-35mm 2.8 GM because Amazon randomly offered a 5 installment payment plan on it, no interest, no credit check, just straight up. I had 400 bucks so I got it. It blew me away how good it was. I started photography/videography with the A7C the day it came out, and had been using a ton of third party lenses. Samyang, Viltrox, my mind set was I didn’t want to spend a lot of money, I just wanted to get the shot, but I wasn’t happy with the shots I got. When I put that G Master on I felt like I had been living a lie. It was so much better, the colors in my photos were so much better, my videos looked clearer and more in focus. Made me rethink every purchase I ever made. I sold everything, ended up getting a Canon R6 because I couldn’t afford an A7Siii and wanted 10 bit video, and sold the R6 to get an A7IV the day it came out. I had a lot of cheap lenses then, now I’m down to three, the 14mm GM, the 24-70 GMii, and the 28mm f2. Now I feel like if I don’t use the best glass I can get, I’m doing a disservice to my images, and I am ready to spend a lot of money to have quality over quantity.
