FE 14mm F1.8 GM Full-frame Ultra-wide Prime G Master Lens Model: SEL14F18GM

Sony's website shows this lens as "Item no longer available". Is this possible for a lens released so recently? Am I glad I bought one when I did or was that a mistake?

Not a mistake. I had the same thoughts and over time saw where I would need to use it, and I'm very happy I did not sell it.

Sony's website have their own distribution facility. Other stores might still have some quantities left. It hasn't been discontinued, only restocking has been slow. Logistics still did not recover.

This is very strange, I will look into it. I have the 14mm 1.8, and it is a great lens

The #FE 14mm F1.8 GM (SEL14F18GM) is NOT discontinued, it's just showing as out of stock kin the Sony store at the moment.

Usually I favor zooms.  But all the ultra wide zooms are very large and heavy to me.  The 14mm GM is relatively  small and very lightweight by comparison.  I had never considered it until I noticed it only weighed 460g!  That's less than the already lightweight 12-24 f4 and nearly half that of the 12-24 f2.8 GM.  If you have the opportunity to try the 14mm you will absolutely enjoy it.  It is easy to carry and the images are stunning.

I LOVE the 14GM.  It's so small and compact for as wide as it is.  I bring it to every game to shoot stadiums and arenas.

110% agree! I love this lens for stadiums.

Playing around with the 14mm today at the BMX track. Can get really creative with it.

I am loving this lens! I want to use it for a flower Timelapse from underneath blooming flowers. I am trying to figure out how to protect the lens since I can't put a filter on this one. Any ideas?
