Upgraded!!! But need help...

Hey guys! Finally made it to the community. I got a nice upgrade from my Sony Alpha 7 II got fungus in the sensor and got myself a new Alpha 7 III. With just within the first shots I noticed the difference, image quality and autofocus are way better than in the previous model. My concern now is to prevent the fungus from appearing again. I live in a very humid area and unfortunately, mold is quite often at my house. Any tips on keeping the camera safe? I was thinking of getting a box and filling it with the little bags of silica gel.

Pelican makes a silica gel pack I like, works especially well if you keep the camera in a pelican case because they are sealed quite well https://www.pelican.com/us/en/accessory/cases/desiccant-silica-gel/1500d

You can also get a dry cabinet, https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1348544-REG/ruggard_edc_50l_electronic_dry_cabinet_50l.html

Good luck and enjoy the new camera!

Not sure how much gear you have but a dry cabinet is the solution being that your equipment is in such an moist environment to get fungus growth... --> https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1391928-REG/ruggard_edc_18l_electronic_dry_cabinet_18l.html

Thanks Tony! I will try to find something of a kind from a European retailer. I had already ordered some silica gel packs to keep in my camera bag but that sounds like a way safer option.

Thanks Niikai, the one you recommended would fit just perfectly. I will need to find a European retailer to get something like that.
