Sony vs. Canon

Hello creatives!

I'm an award winning wedding photographer with 10 yrs experience and have only shot with Canon. I love my camera but it's time to upgrade. I am considering a Sony mirrorless. Can you give me the pros and cons between the two? Thanks!

I'm not sure yet. I was recommended the G master lens.

You might take a look at the a7IV. Full frame, 33mp, 10fps, excellent autofocus. Coming from the 5DIII the eye-af and lowlight performance will be a dramatic improvement.

I switched from my Canon 5D IV to Sony about a year ago and it's been amazing. Obviously the weight is a huge factor. Also, the autofocus is a dream. My favorite thing has been the low light capability, especially for weddings, when the parties go into the evenings, it allows me so much more creativity. Of course there's always a learning curve when switching systems but it wasn't too bad for me

I would recommend either the Sony a1 or the new Sony a7RV. Both cameras in my bag all the time - can't think of another camera/brand that I'd rather be using
