  1. I saw a beast of a Sony camcorder at the thrift shop yesterday...definitely was from the 80's. This timeline is pretty interesting -https://www.sony.com/en/SonyInfo/CorporateInfo/History/sonyhistory-f.html....we've come a long way indeed!
  2. Camcorder style! There’s something magical about vlogging with a camcorder to me. I picked up an early 2000’s Handycam a few months back and it's been a blast! While I do have a "newer" 2017 Handycam I still like the old ones because they were small, cute, and the video quality was horrible, but perfectly nostalgic. Thoughts on camcorders?
  3. definitely planning to do more themed vlogging this year!
  4. just updated to the 24-70 GM II and i'm super glad I made the investment! saying goodbye to my old 24-70 was a bit heartbreaking tho 😞
  5. I love vlogs that have no talking, just captions. It feels like you’re reading a book and watching a movie at the same time ( I'm not a big book reader, but I can read captions all day!) Of course, throwing some type of chill music behind it is needed but it's great to show your thoughts in different ways. What do you think about vlogging in this way?
  6. I'm always finding the most unplanned, minimal effort-type of videos end up doing the best. It's kind of disheartening when you pour your heart and soul into something and have a good feeling about how it will be received, only to see the view count on it be low, but these are the uncontrollable truths of being a creator, right? Glad to hear you're repurposing a ton of content !
  7. great to hear your perspective on this!
  8. I would definitely agree that people are watching us for us!
  9. Vlogs tend to be less SEO friendly because so much is going on in ea. video. Do you vlog with a keyword in mind? If so, do you find that limits you on creativity?
  10. I used to want a bunch of hyphy footage, gimbal movement and just a bunch of camera movement in general, but lately I've been Inspired by the still life. This is typically a vlog style that's shot on a tripod with very well composed framing. I find that the less movement there is, the more calm the video feels and I'm loving that. Do calming vlogs shot in this way appeal to you?
  11. cloud backup for finished files seems like a good call
