  1. Biggest questions that I always ask potential clients are: What's the budget? What's the intended usage for the photos? Do you have a mood board or examples of other shoots you like? From there you can get a general idea of what they're looking for / what they're willing to pay for it and make adjustments as needed until you both find a good spot for pricing and usage.
  2. The 35mm f1.4 is amazing so I'd either go with that or something small and compact like the 50mm f1.8
