  1. I'm using it all the time now - LOVE it for macro and landscape work. 4-7 frames seem to be the sweet spot before post-processing gets to be too much.

If I use a lot of frames (more than 10) I go to Helicon Focus - it's a beast! Have done 30+ frame stacks...

  2. Hey Don! I haven’t found I’m using it. I guess I never thought doing a 3-4 image focus stack was really difficult in camera. What kept me away from it was the post production. I guess I found it too time consuming and not worth it for the most part. But I know people are loving the feature so maybe I’m just late to the party 🙂

I felt the same Matt, but it's really kind of addicting 🙂

  3. Photographers already composite and the less scrupulous ones will put it out as a single click - so in a sense, it is already happening. I can tell you that Getty Images will not accept AI-generated imagery. Where it goes from here is anyone's guess. I'm more concerned that all photographers are being ripped-off financially as this software is pulling from images on the web - yours and mine included. I don't recall signing away the rights to my images in order for AI to generate new images. Maybe a class-action lawsuit???

  4. While I can't answer your question, I do have an additional question of my own for those with experience:

Q: I suspect the intensity of the auroras on any given night will have a significant influence on settings, however what range of exposure time and ISO (exposure compensation?) would be an effective starting range to experiment within? I plan on trying a couple times in the next month before it stays too bright too long to be possible with my 1.2/50 and 1.2/24.

It completely depends on the luminosity value of the Aurora - they differ. A good overall starting point would be ISO 1600 wide open aperture (if lens is sharp enough). The time again will differ.

  5. Ski racing. When I was young I was trying to make the US Ski Team. My knees started to require surgery and the dream was never accomplished. I did race professionally one year and raced against the legendary Jean-Claude Killy.

  6. I have recently been asked to do a talk at a college in Cairo, Egypt on my photography. Debating if I should go and if I'd be safe. Has anyone recently traveled there? State Department adds to travel with caution...
