  1. I have the rx100 mk6 and i love that i can always have it with me. The RX1Rii is a favorite of many street photographers and it has an excellent lens, but it is a fixed focal length and has been around for many years. If Sony ever made a successor to the camera I would consider it as it has a full frame sensor

  2. The 200-600 is a nice lens, but it is big lens. If you are on safari and working out of a vehicle or shooting sports in one place it is not a problem. But if you are moving around a lot it can start to weigh you down. My solution is the 100-400 and the Sony 1.4 tele extender. It is a great portable solution

  3. I carry a small emergency blanket - but i use it as a reflector - a different kind of emergency. I always carry a very lightweight foldable rain/wind jacket as I never know when conditons will change.

  4. I shoot a lot of people in natural situations when I travel. I know it's proper to ask for permission, however many times this ruins the moment. Instead of asking, I find that using your body language and reading your subjects body language is a quick way to get the 'go ahead' or not. This is also very helpful if there is a language barrier.

    What techniques are you using??

  5. The a9ii or the a1 are the cameras you need for sports photography. And the 70-200mm f/2.8 is necessary - after that you may need something longer. Depending on your budget and weather or not you are shooting night football you may need the 400mm f/2.8

  6. The Sony fast prime lenses, 50mm 1.2, 35mm 1.4, 24mm 1.4 are all fantastic lenses. How many people are using these lenses at their widest aperture? Of course in low light situations you need those apertures, but the wide open look and bokeh is very stylized especially when the lens is used outdoors. Recently i have been experimenting with this look, which is easy to do since the Sony cameras can shoot at extremely high shutter speeds which makes taking images wide open possible.

Who else has given this a try??

  7. I know many people like working with the 35mm focal length lens for everyday shooting and street shooting. I like a bit wider background spread and feel very comfortable with a 28mm length lens. I have the Sony 28mm f/2 but I am hoping for a Gmaster version that is a bit faster. Would you be interested in a new 28mm lens?

  8. It was a great camera - the start of the Sony mirrorless  line. But the original batteries did not last very long and i would usually carry about 6 extra with me!!!

  9. I just returned from another trip to Cuba, this time I took my new Sony a7rv. I am truly amazed at how the AI focus holds onto your subject, even when someone walks in front of you. The new titling screen is going to work very well for me when i am shooting video, especially when i am on a gimbal.

Who has been using the new camera, and what do you think. I would love to hear back from people about their impressions of the a7rv - both good and bad.
