  1. I love how these turned out! I think there's something so special about shooting in b&w deliberately. The soft quality here really makes the b&w even dreamier. How much are you doing in the way of post processing?
  2. @Wojtsobi stunning as always! You're so good at letting the light guide the scene - whether it be golden light or blue light, it really enhances the story. Is that something you focus on when editing?
  3. The colors in those sunsets!! bird photography is something I'm interested in getting better at - it's such a fun challenge!
  4. Stunning! Kando looked amazing! I love seeing the Sony community in action 🙂
  5. @kevinmcox awesome!! The A1 is a dream camera of mine... but that might have to wait for a big gig or just save up 🙂 Can't wait to see more of your work!
  6. @TrekRover of course! My experience as a grantee has been wonderful - I'm wrapping up my field work next month and I can't wait to share more images from my project with this community!
  7. @alpha-jessica-a so awesome! I love the shots and hope you had a great trip!!
  8. I agree, it looks like a blast! I can't wait to see what people make as more people get their hands on it... they might just convince me to buy it!
  9. Okay I'm loving these monthly photo dumps! This past month, my big project was for a corporate client - the Lexus store in Richmond, VA wanted photos of their cars in iconic places throughout the city. I still have quite a few more days of shooting to do but here are some of the shots I've gotten so far! I've been using my Sony A7RV and Sony 16-35 GM!
  10. Hey everyone! I mostly work as a conservation photographer and the National Geographic grants have been an awesome way to fund some of my projects. The deadline isn't until April but they take quite a bit of work to pull everything together. https://www.nationalgeographic.org/society/grants-and-investments/?nav_click Is anyone considering applying for this? What project would you want to do? Let me know if I can answer any questions based on my application experience!
  11. Oh I would love to connect with more photographers in my area! I only moved here a few months ago and I miss my photo community 😭
  12. This is beautiful! Sticking around for sunset clearly paid off. I love the strong foreground, middle ground, and background
  13. Wow, stunning! I can't wait to see more of your work! 😊
  14. @kevinmcox wow I love your work! What gear do you shoot with?
  15. Dang, that IS appealing! I often find myself in the field fumbling with a handheld flash. This is a stunning shot! Were there other features that stood out to you?
  16. Wow these are fantastic! What's your favorite features on the new camera?
  17. Hi! So excited to be here, thanks so much Matt!
  18. @alpha-jessica-a I love these shots! Your trip looks so fun 😊
  19. @Peter Guardiola that's awesome! I can't wait to see what you make this fall!
  20. @Wojtsobi absolutely stunning! I love how rich the oranges turn out... is that your white balance or your post processing technique?
  21. @Peter Guardiola that image is stunning! What do you typically shoot?
  22. Hey friends! It was awesome seeing what you created in June so I thought we could do the same for July! This month I did a few corporate shoots (unfortunately I can't share those shots just yet). I also worked on photos for my National Geographic explorer project on lawn culture in the United States. I've been using a lot of close-up wide angle techniques, I love the storytelling element of that technique!
  23. Heck yes! I love Matt's work and I'm a total newbie to off camera lighting. Matt, can you talk through the shutter drag technique? That's how you made these photos, right? (I screen shot this from your Instagram purely to ask this question!)
