  1. I've cut my workshop schedule down a bit to get in some personal trips: Glacier NP and Australia's Great Ocean Road are on the list!
  2. First off Meessaview, there is no "perfect lens" for rainbows - the composition will always dictate the lens - depending if you want to capture the entire rainbow or go tight and shoot a partial rainbow - that will always be your choice. Moreover, you can only capture what is there. The lens will not make the rainbow any brighter or more saturated. A polarizer will certainly help as it will saturate the rainbow or completely eliminate it. You can add some contrast in post and try playing with Vibrance and/or DeHaze.
  3. Wow - love every one of these images Wojtsobi. You have a firm command of using shallow depth-of-field and the light is awesome - you obviously work around the edges of the day which is the way I work... Congratulations...
  4. Good to know Catwoodfield... I do not own that lens but appreciate you sharing that knowledge.
  5. My rule of thumb is that this was the affect you were going for then that's all that matters. We as artists are in charge of leading our viewer's eye. In this case, the eye will go directly to the building as studies have proven that we will lock onto sharp focus. So the big question before tripping the shutter for any scene is what are you trying to accomplish? Hope this helps. BTW - as a landscape photographer, it is very important that my foregrounds are sharp most of the time.
  6. Looking at your shutter speed of 1/3rd sec. leads me to believe that you had some vibration when tripping the shutter with your 210mm. My suggestion for future attempts would be to either use a cable release or use shutter-timer at 5 seconds for a lens that long. Also was there any wind that evening? All these factors can lead to slight blurring. I do a lot of night work and have experienced all of these issues...
  7. Very good point Drew and I agree - 14mm f/1.8 also amazing!
  8. I'm off to Best Buy to purchase a new SSD 4TB external drive for my new Mac Studio. Does that count? 🙂
  9. I just got my Sony a7RV and have only had the opportunity to photograph with it twice for landscapes - insanely great camera and file! Don't buy into what others are saying about it just being the same senor of the a7RIV. It is, but it is coupled with the new processor which makes it act like a brand new sensor!
  10. Good to know Tony - thanks for sharing! Happy New Year!!!
  11. I've never heard of Madera Canyon - I'll have to look it up. Thanks for the tip!
  12. I've always wanted to shoot there in the springtime LensBrew - the wildflowers are insane!
  13. I am already making a list of places to visit for 2023 - most are places I've never been. Most are in the desert southwest. However - I really want to make it a point to get to Glacier NP in the fall in 2023. What is/are some places you hope to get to this upcoming year?
  14. So many shooters nowadays that collectors are not buying as much unless they are collecting you... As a favorite Argentinian cafe owner once said, "it is what it is!"
  15. I used to have the 24mm for a night lens but sold it once I got the 14mm f/1.8
  16. Bottom line: if the image is soft - especially in sports - it is not worth keeping... Get it sharp and deal with the grain in post.
  17. I have been shooting my new a7RV and captured this sun star in a sea cave along the California Central Coast. I used my Sony 12-24mm. My 14mm f/1.8 is another fav for sun stars. What lens are you using?
  18. I have been traveling since September - mostly international - and surprisingly, no problems. Short of no leg room on American domestic flights, all good. Sorry for the mishaps. BTW - just watched The Fabelmans and couldn't help thinking about you...
  19. BTW - to answer your question, I would have to say all the classes that Kando offers from all our expert Sony Ambassadors...
  20. That's awesome PMR - I think you and I were in that same class. My travel schedule has really put a dent into my YouTube Channel - may be something for me to take more seriously in 2003.
  21. I'll have to check that one our RoGina - thanks!
  22. I would love to do both cameracutter! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
  23. Just tested mine out for the first time yesterday Drew. I agree - killer camera.
  24. I went out late yesterday to play with the a7RV and the focus bracketing - off the charts awesome! Both of the captures with the Sony 12-24mm GM!
