  1. I actually like mid-morning. I use OCF so the soft light about 8:30 in summer is perfect.
  2. I'm really impressed. I live so rural and light pollution is still a problem for me.
  3. Your images are incredible! Thank you for sharing!
  4. The light is important. I have been using cob lights by Westcott, but any light that can handle being on for days works! You also don't want the color balance to shift during that time too.
  5. I do like a good apple app. That would be nice!
  6. It all comes down to marketing. I make a steady stream on Etsy, but the prices are always a race to the bottom. I would love to sell big ticket prints. I am working on that!
  7. Just wanted to add...I moved to Shopify and I'm a lot happier. This is my third try though! It has a bit of a learning curve, but the customizations for sales are so much more refined than other platforms I have tried.
  8. I LOVE small tripods! I shoot in the garden and have to wedge legs between branches. 🙂 I also love how both of my travel tripods can be adjusted with one hand (for the most part). I have two carbon ones and love them!
  9. I am loving this lens! I want to use it for a flower Timelapse from underneath blooming flowers. I am trying to figure out how to protect the lens since I can't put a filter on this one. Any ideas?
  10. This is so interesting! Thank you for sharing!
  11. Ok, maybe torture is a bit harsh, but goodness gracious, flower time-lapses are a bit hard. Here are a few key take aways: 1. They take days. Even a simple time lapse will take two or three days. 2. Your light must be able to handle being on all the time. I burned out an LED panel doing this. It is totally worth it to set up an LED setup that is totally fine with being on for days straight. 3. You will go through a lot of batteries. I recharge my batteries constantly and have to pop in new ones nearly everyday (or multiple times per day). 4. The time between frames will be minutes, so you have to use an intervalometer. I would love it if Sony added minutes to the option for in-camera time-lapse! 5. Make sure you do it where people and pets won't bother your set up! I have lost so many because someone decided to flip on the overhead light or decided to 'see what I was up to.' 6. Sometimes, the flowers just fizzle out by starting strong and then flopping over. It is sad to lose three days' work in one frame. 😩 7. It is worth it. I never knew how flowers shift and twist over the course of their opening. It is truly fascinating! ranunculus 2-2.mp4
  12. Really incredible! I have seen similar on Lake Superior, but I'm sure they were formed differently. The colors and textures here are epic!
  13. I used to like to shoot at golden hour and early morning, but now I really love shooting later morning. I use strobes a lot more so I am less dependent on the ambient light, although it is still really important!
  14. These are beautiful and I can envision your wife's garden through these images. Lovely! I especially love the ice crystals on the rose.
  15. I am definitely a rule breaker. I love a strong centered, square composition. I love to print squares too.
  16. Yes! This! I love intimate landscapes and love the 100-400 for the same reasons.
  17. Incredible! I hardly have words. What an adventure!
  18. I'm kind of weird and love intimate landscapes. I love the 100-400GM.
  19. Nice! I really love to use old vintage lenses on my Sony cameras too!
  20. My heart goes out to you. This is always a tough road. I am glad you are using photography to process it all. I love this series.
  21. Yep! I kind of burnt myself out and need to work up the energy to do that all again, haha!
  22. Hey, everyone! I am a tiny bit nervous as I am flower farming for real this year. 🙂 I have been building native prairie flower habitats for the last seven years, but this is the first year I am planting thousands of annual flowers. I'd love to see what you are shooting! I am in love with irises at the moment!
